We have the same lockers in several boroughs in London, but the waiting lists for a spot can be years long and other boroughs are overtly anti-bike (hi, Westminster...) hence the campaign.
Hi all. A friend is involved in a campaign to pressure London councillors in to providing better storage options for bikes, seeing as cars most just get to squat on public land and cyclists are mostly expected to... find somewhere in their flats, I guess.
They asked me to share this:
Clean Cities Campaign are calling on London bike owners to share pics of the weird or annoying places they’re forced to keep their two-wheeled friends.
As well as sharing on social media, the best snaps will feature on billboards in London.
It’s all part of their #ThisIsAwkward campaign - calling on councillor candidates in the upcoming May elections to commit to delivering a cheap, convenient and secure bike hanger space for all residents that need one, without delay.
Please share your pictures publicly with the tag #ThisIsAwkward (twitter or instagram), or even better send them in using this form https://qy4bnzg9qtq.typeform.com/to/F7Bj0oVQ
I believe that if you want to be included in the billboard material haul then it need to be in the next two weeks.
Peace
