3 years out of a BB, that's not to be sniffed at
Retrogrouches be like... pfft

But also
3 years out of a modern bicycle, that's not to be sniffed at

Never understood why people like omniums so much - which really are rival cranks - but sneer at gxp. If it creaks, it's installation or bb shell fault
-

I've got a set of omniums that I bought second hand about ten years ago. They always creak when I put a new BB in (every few years), until I take the BB back out, clean+regrease+reinstall between one and three times. I can't speak for others, but on my part I fully blame user error...

3 years out of a bb is pretty dam good, Isnt that ages out of a ceramic bb which makes that even more impressive.

Has anyone done a Hambini style critique of any of his BBs?
-
• #37
not possible for, there can only be one hambini.
-
• #38
Hmmm if only that was true.
-
• #39
I believe peak torque reviewed a Hambini BB, if my memory isn't playing tricks
-
• #40
Doesn’t Hambini moan about frame bb shells. Why is his bb any better than any other standard one?
-
• #41
As far as I understand, he measures the actual BB shell dimensions and makes the BB itself to best suit the compromise of the shell in each individual case.
-
• #42
I see. Well I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire let alone give him any money or clicks
-
• #43
Indeed!

• #44
The ceramic bearing gxp BB I had lasted years.

This seems like a good alternative, from a decent brand, so expecting quality. At a decent price too, given the crankset comes with the BB.
Available in silver too.
