Right, having stepped away from this as was getting close to going postal on it, how the feckin’ hell do you get the brake cable sorted via the internal ‘routing’.
There’s no internal guide, so whatever I do the cable runs out of the bottom of the fork tube.
I can’t get it to catch or snag on the lower exit point and I don’t want to pull the rubber grommet out in case you’re not supposed to.
Has anyone got a tip or have I missed something obvious (very likely.)
Use a vacuum cleaner to pull a thread/lightweight string though the correct route, then electrical tape the thread to the cable and carefully pull that through.
Good idea. Will try that.
The rubber should come out in my experience. There's a Cannondale spares website if you muck it up.
Strong magnetics really help as well.
Ha! The grommets do come out. Now I get it.
However to keep the cable tension I seem to need the whole length of cable from the lever to the caliper arm to be concealed.
I do not have enough spare cable now, having cut the bits to fit at either end.
