Rubbing disc brake

Swapped out my susp fork for rigid.

The rigid fork requires an adaptor to fit the disc caliper.

On the susp fork the caliper had a little float when I loosened the bolts. Pull the brake lever to centre the caliper and tighten all good.

On the rigid fork with adaptor I have to slacken the bolts several turns to get any float. Using the above technique the brake still rubs.

Any advice on anything else I can try. I was considering drilling out the adaptor a touch to give a bit more float.

So what's the question, it doesn't have space to fit the rotor and the edge rubs against the caliper?
Otherwise center by eye only. The brake and tighten technique doesn't work in all cases.

I'm having trouble centring the brake. It doesn't have as much movement to adjust using the brake adaptor as when mounted directly to my other fork.

Saw a suggestion of using a folded business card between the pads. Will try that tomorrow.

Should work, as long as you can move it to the right position.

Went to adjust this just now. Tightened up the caliper.

I often wonder how well these little things work. Probably quite cheap to test out?

It's stamped as a 160mm adaptor for front brake. My rotor is 160mm. Arrow pointing up.

There’s a washer on the bolt, showing. Tres bizarre.

I'd guess it's a manufacturing fault unless you've been really overtightening them, new calipers are cheap if you can find them though, only thing available with Madison is M6100 but somewhere might have stock of MT200 or MT410.

Wondering if the adaptor to blame. Stressing the caliper?
I'm going to order a new adaptor and caliper.

They don't.

Could be, if the holes aren't lined with the caliper. I never seen anyone breaking one of these, rounded bolt if anything.

The adaptor does not seem to marry up with the caliper properly. With the lower bolt fixed the upper bolt hole is not flush and the adaptor fouls the caliper body.

Should there be some of those silver conical(?) washers that go between the mount and caliper?

Nah, they're for shit brakes like avid.
