For sale this Colnago Mexico in Saronni red.
Friend of my dad's still had it in his attic, it hasn't been used for the last 15 years or so. Needs some attention (chrome pitted, paint could use some touching up, new hoods, new tires, bar tape). Please have a look at the pictures to get an idea of the state, and don't hesitate to request additional pictures.
Measurements: seat tube ctc: 54.5cm, top tube ctc: 55cm, stem: 10cm.
Based of other adverts that I find (https://www.ebay.fr/itm/194392293259 2299GBP, https://www.ebay.fr/itm/274329283453?hash=item3fdf4cab7d:g:814AAOSwvfxeizm- 2200 euros), and taking into account the state of this bike, I'm asking for 900 euros.
It is located in the south of France, shipping will be on the buyers expense.
That’s a Colnago Super Profil and not a Mexico BTW (although commonly confused with a Nuovo Mexico)
Your frame set has great heritage as being the model that Saronni famously rode
Great price on an iconic frame, especially with the panto stem
Thanks for the correction, I had no idea! Very interesting. Sadly it's way too small for me so it has to go.
@JusCos, you're back! 😊
@WimVDD I'm always lurking in the shadows but just with little interesting to report hence no posts for a couple of years😂. Could it finally be I've found bicycle contentment?
Good to see a friendly face, I hope you're still riding.............and collecting..............and riding............and collecting
Is that his actual race bike? If so, I never knew the 50th gruppo was used on professional bikes.
I strongly believe it is but whether he rode with that Gruppo on I have no idea. The photo is from Julian Saarf's webpage taken when he visited the Colnago factory 3 or 4 years back. Here's another from the same page.
The blue Super next to it is Freddy Maertens race bike
Apologies @Concept2 for hijacking your thread but your lovely bike deserves a daily bump 😉
That‘s interesting, thanks for the insight :)
No worries, happy to learn more about the bike and good to have all info here!
Lovely. I think your price is spot on but not on here
Thanks, what do you mean with not on here? Would it be wiser to try selling through a different platform?
In any case some additional info: shipping to the UK would be 59 euros.
Hello is the bike still avaiable?
Hi, yes it's still available.
