Fixing up an old 26 mtb for commuting/shopping duties. Used and no-name parts accepted (mostly preferred for the £). Need the following:
Front rack/Wald basket
Kool stop salmon or Swissstop for v-brakes
Cheap short 1 1/8 and 31.8mm threadless stem (35mm/50mm)
Touring/trekking/townie/cruiser 31.8mm bars (On-One probs)
Tan wall 26' tyres
9 speed chain
Not in a massive rush. Can pickup in London or pay postage.
9 speed derailleur
9 speed cassette
9 speed shifter
9 speed wheels
Free in E14. It's a vintage jim blackburn rear rack. Surprisingly light. ebay research suggests these are not totally worthless yet...
just to add - these were on a 26" frame. not sure if that fits your requirement
ah amazing yeah it's for an old 26" trek, thanks man I'll PM you now
made a whole list now, anyone got anything? (:
i have a used shimano BB you can have for free, pickup n7
also some cantilever brakes possibly
Have a bag of canti bits you can have for postage (think there’s a full set), will take a picture when I get home to see if they’re what you’re after. Also a pair of neon green brake levers (what was I thinking…)
Maybe some other bits and bobs, will check.
i've got both sizes of quill adapter...
PM'd you folks
Got some cheapo v brakes in that thread ^^
Also pretty sure I've got a 7 speed Acera derailleur if it's any help. Can look for it missed "9 speed" my bad
much appreciated anyway man!
Probably have a stem.
What length do you need?
nice! theres probably going to be some trial an error involved so maybe starting at 50mm could be a good plan
