• This has kept me busy over the course of a quiet summer, but I'm shifting into more dedicated bikepacking mode and this just isn't get used. Will be sad to see it go - has been a great intro into off-road riding.

It's a 2016 model, but is surprisingly modern in its standards - 110/148 boost spacing, pretty long/slack geometry, routing for an internal dropper etc. It's got two sets of bottle mounts too, so you can take it bikepacking if you fancy.

The build is interesting, as it seems a previous owner took a stock 2016 Genesis Tarn and swapped out some parts, kept others but overall did a slightly rubbish job of putting it all together. I've therefore fully unbuilt and rebuilt the bike, greasing things that weren't greased, setting the derailleur up properly (turns out a direct mount setup only works well if you mount the derailleur directly...), torqued everything properly, and generally overhauling the bike.

I've set the tyres up tubeless with Muc Off sealant and valves, and I've just replaced the crappy Sunrace cassette and SRAM chain with a almost-brand-new Shimano 11-42 and a KMC X10 chain.

The frame has a few paint chips here and there, and the previous owner has done some surprisingly nice touch-ups too. The alloy bits have some minor scuffs from use, but I've far from thrashed it - two runs down Verderers in FOD and a day in the Lakes is the worst of it.

I'll list the full spec below, and I'll also throw in some extras (spare hangers, sealant, tape, rigid seatpost, QR clamp, bottle cage etc) that I'll detail soon. £900 > £850 > £800 seems like a fair price in my mind, but shout if I'm off, and I'd prefer collection in Bristol or thereabouts. Cheers!
