  • I remember a Kent ride led by @KT_Bee that ended with huddling under a tree, rain sheeting across the roads and bailing for the train including some slightly underwater roads to get to the nearest station. That one wasn't rapha/distance related though.

  • That was the one!! Thanks for the correction.

  • It was a rapha 100 to Herne Bay I think but we had to bail at about 80km as the roads were flooded - good times! It has been such lovely weather in the morning and then TIPPED it down.

  • Ah I stand corrected then, I just didn't remember it being rapha related. Unless this happened more than once?!

  • @youramericanlover @ChainBreaker @hats I know you are, but what am I 😭

I definitely wasn't on that Herne Bay ride, and I also don't remember any biblical floods on any ride - although TBF you're one of the good people on le forum that I've never met, @hoefla so I'm no use here :D I do remember a womens 100 ride with a flooded road that was like a fjord and there was a bridge to cross it with? I'd brought my mate Helen along and she was the only person brave enough to ride through, all the rest of us bottled it and minced over the bridge on foot with our 23c hipster whips. @pootsmanuva was leading that one, I think.

  • Ok fine fine I'll go through my old photos and be smacked in the face with nostalgia, FINE. This is the herne bay ride... greyscale pic for the epic suffering we didn't realise we had in store for us later that day.
