recently bought a White Industries flip flop hub and want to make it fixed wheel. On White Industries site it says i need a "standard English 1.29 x 24 tpi threaded lock ring." to use with their splined cog. However with lockrings they're usually Left handed thread, where can i find the right lockring?
Buy a basic lockring like the Halo, Surly, Gusset, Sturmey Archer ones, they’ll be the one you want. They will have 1.29x24 tpi stamped on them. They’re left-hand thread, yes. Your hub will be too. You’re over-thinking this.
The other standards are French (almost unobtainable) and a type known as Campagnolo (used by some other awkward manufacturers too). If the one you’re buying doesn’t say ‘French thread’ or ‘Campag thread’, you’ll be fine.
i've got a standard dura ace lock ring on mine
cheers, what is it like skidding with their hubs, is it safe to skid with them a lot?
proprietary system works well, haven't touched the cog / lockring in 6 yrs
