Cannondale SS 57cm for sale - £350

Posted on
  • Hi all - selling my Cannondale R800 single speed, 57cm frame.

I've built this bike over the last few months. The frame is second hand, all other components are brand new (wheels (shimano RS100 road wheelset), tyres (gatorskins), tubes, chain, chain tensioner, seat, seat post, flipflop spd pedals, brakes (shimano), handlebar, crank, pedal arms, bottom bracket (Shimano 105/Ultegra hollowtech II). I've put on a chain tensioner as it's a geared frame.

I took it to SeaBass Cycles in Peckham who have given it a look over and the thumbs up. It cycles straight and true, no issues at all. The frame has a couple of minor dings but is in good condition. I wanted to build a bike, I don't have any space to keep it though so it must go to a new home for some proper use!

I'm 6"2, it's a little snug, probably best for someone a little shorter. It's currently set up on a 16/44 ratio. I believe it's an aluminium frame, it's very light.

I've spent £550 plus on it. Looking to sell it for £350. I'm located just of Peckham Rye, SE22 0RX.

Any questions just let me know! Cheers.

  • Quite interested provisionally I like it just wondering about covid purchasing protocol

  • Sure - I can clean/sanitise the bike before you try it. If you could hand-san before, we can both wear masks and keep distance. Should be OK?

  • Hi Will - I'm interested.. Is your steed still available?

  • Hi there @user119269- it certainly is still available. I'm working from home all week if you want to come over and try it out.

  • This is still available! Any questions do let me know - cheers.

    Story of my lfgss life.

  • The journey is the reward.

  • Hi - I'm interested, but I would prefer a gearset with more than one speed (maybe two on the front and 9 or 11 on the back).

I'm a complete bike build noob so I have a question: to convert this to a multiple speed gearing would it just be a case of buying a new groupset and gearset and swapping out the existing cassettes and tensioner for a Shimano 105 set or similar?

I'd like to get a full understanding without leading ppl on. Thanks in advance!

  • That's what I was thinking of doing but it's slightly large I'm 5.11 and slightly far I'm in Cambridgeshire. I was considering a 1x11 drivetrain simple as a rear derailleur shifter and cable. Probably chain aswell just check the back wheel spacers size and replace with a 11 speed block . Can be done around 200 quid.

  • Yeah it's a nice frame. The welds looks great.

  • This is now sold. Thanks for the interest all.
