Ah lovely quarantine times!
I came up with idea I would like to build a neo-retro CX and found retro alan frame. Great! Got the frame shipped within Europe, unpacked it and VUALIA - a crack in the seatpost collar.
Any thoughts on what should I do?
Which direction I should go?
would be pointless welding that, you wouldn't be able to do a good weld on it anyway. if you could get it clean enough it could be brazed but it wouldn't achieve an awful lot and would compromise the joint in the lug, as these frames are typically bonded.
I would just live with it and flag with the seller, ask for a bit of a refund or send it back. I would forget a repair if I were you. the bolt will be holding the seat post in, thats the only thing you need to be concerned about here. that and the lugs coming unbonded. and the seat tube cracking, the only frame I've ever had do that was on one of these.
on second thoughts I would send it back, you got a get out of jail free card there!
