Specialized Langster lower headset/bearings

Posted on
  • Hi all - Hoping someone can help as this confusing me!

Note - I have very little understanding of terminology when it comes to bike parts so treat me like a child :)

Taking apart my mid-2010s Specialized Langster as I'm going to get it painted and wanted to change the fork. I discovered that the bearings ring was all worn out and some of the ball bearings fell out of the 'belt' and onto the floor when I was doing it.

Can I buy this bearing 'belt' as a replacement? Or is more of buying something bigger? I have no idea how to find the part I need to buy - Please help!

    Thanks in advance.

  • the bearing part you are searching should be available either at your local bike shoppe or via interwebz, try searching for "1 1/8 headset ball bearing cage"

  • Thanks for your reply. Most of them seem to say "5/32" - is this the same?

  • yes, 5/32 refers to the ball size, they should be roughly 4mm in diameter
