SOLD ahead Columbus Max-like fork

  • Hi,

Bought at Retrogression (189€) with custom taxes (45€).

    Black, straight legs.

    Full steerer : 30cm
    Steerer outside diameter : 25,4mm (1 inch)
    Steerer inside diameter : 22,2mm
Retrogression said "walls are too thin to cut threads in it"(!!!)
1 inch outside, 22,2mm inside, looks like a normal steerer to me.
If I had kept it I would have definitely cut threads in it.
I provide Columbus Max stickers even if it's probably Kasei.

    200€ shipping included.

  • Nice! What does it weigh please? Where are you based? Post-Brexit import fees are everywhere now

  • Could weight it at noon, post from Frog-land :)

  • I would get a second opinion on whether it could be threaded, or not.
    Contact your local frame builder.

  • No problem, I can ask a shop and a framebuilder from where I am (Toulouse).

  • Chaud du poids aussi steuup !

  • 740 g 🤔

Threaded and threadless steer tubes are not the same. You’re not supposed to cut threads into a threadless fork. The threads in a threaded fork are rolled pushing the threads out a bit.

It’s do-able, and I’ve done it but the three frame builders I’ve worked with refused to do it.

  • So, as a professional you can't say it's do-able because of the responsability but it's do-able.

Damn, I should have done it myself and I should have put the Max stickers on it too ! 😆

  • Note to the potential buyer : you can use it ahead too !!

  • still available?

  • Sorry sold a long time ago
