  • The Bob Yak is one of the things for me with the highest want and lowest need combination...

Yes, I thought this might hit the spot for transporting bulkier items, whereas I would have trouble justifying a separate cargo bike. Plus, I like the aesthetics.

  • Ah, this build takes me back.

I had a Countryman brought from Bike UK whose first shop was next to Charing cross station underneath a building in Villiers Street. It was a very noticeable metallic pink. This was in 1983.

Touring bikes hadn't moved to triples or cantilevers yet . TA and Stronglight chainsets were exotica that Chris Juden mentioned in the pages of Cycle Touring.

A lovely bike which I commuted and toured on, including cycle camping or what we now call bike packing.

Looks like a sensitive restoration, especially the Sanyo Dynamo.

  • The metallic pink of your Countryman sounds like a striking colour.

I was very happy to find the bottom bracket dynamo new. It is a Soubitez unit and works well.

  • Nice! The Eclipse also looks great.
