  • Absolute porn worthy build tbf.

    Very high price though, maybe worth splitting etc.

    GLWS!

  • Yeah what Josh said ^...

    ...totally killer build and I think you'll have to split if you want to sell it.

  • £2.7k for a fixie 🤷🏽♂️

  • regarding the “very high price”: frame ($850), crankset ($645), bottom bracket ($147), seatpost ($205), headset ($150), stem ($147.5), bars ($100), hubs ($500), rack ($120) and you’re close to $3k (£2.3k) in usa net prices without shipping, vat and customs. you can do the math with the rest.

    i’m not keen on selling the bike i just don’t want to hang it on the wall as a constant reminder to see what is i’m not capable of. but i definitely won’t be sad if nobody is interested in it.

  • Shit news about the crash! Hope you're good.

  • thanks man, i’m learning to walk! :)

  • Sorry to hear about your crash and I hope you make a speedy recovery. With regards to price, the sum of cost of the components will not equal (or in my opinion come close to) what someone will be willing to pay for the full build, just how it is I'm afraid. If you're trying to recoup as much of the cost as possible you'll likely have more luck splitting as others have said.

  • yeah, you’re right. that’s why it is only €3k/£2.7k. i paid way more than that to buy and import all those components to this continent.

  • Helluva build, but I agree with @ElGonzo - the kind of person that is willing to spend that kind of money on a fixed gear is pretty rare. I’m sure they exist, but it might take a while to find one.

    Again though, kudos for a fucking epic biek! You have won all the fixie points.

  • the kind of person that is willing to spend that kind of money on a fixed gear is pretty rare. I’m sure they exist, but it might take a while to find one.

    And even rarer someone who will be willing to spend that kind of money on this exact combination of parts built to the OP's taste.

    Good luck but again, you'll probably only get close to that if you sell all the parts individually, which isn't that difficult

  • I’m a big purple anodising fan as it happens - but am only 5ft 6 and about £2,500 short of the asking price!

  • it wasn’t a question that it’s nearly impossible to find a buyer, i expressed my concerns in the first comment (“i believe it’s a long shot”). and to be frank i wouldn’t even try to make fun of myself on this forum but this is an exceptional situation.

  • No one ever makes fun of anyone else on this forum @gex.

  • i’m not disagreeing with you just two notes:

    1. according to my experience the majority of the people don’t have a taste at all. i saw many many people especially with the ones well funded who can’t decide between frames, components, colors, styles, whatever. facebook groups, messaging boards, forums, etc: half the content is about questions what should they buy. people have access to more products than ever and they don’t have a clue.

    2. i’m not against parting out because it’s difficult. well, it’s difficult for me because i’m very limited in movement but you meant a different thing. i just don’t like the idea to spend a lot of time with disassembling, messaging with tons of people, packaging and shipping to have some money and still a half bike on the wall at the end. it goes as a complete or stays, i’m not interested in between those two. “goes as a complete” can be two or three bigger chunks (those people will message me anyway) but you’re very familiar with this place, if you start splitting you’re gonna get messages about the tiniest possible components.

  • I would definitely take the bell please to go with/match my Moots. Stunning build tho and wish I could justify it. Thanks. T

  • Just perfect !

  • Beautiful! Good luck with sale and speedy recovery!

  • Yeah man, sell it for what you are asking for or keep it for when you recover. Seems like a good strategy to me :)

    Heal fast bud!

  • This looks like a cad model with some missing textures!

  • If it's your end-goal bike, keep it on the wall as inspiration for doing your physio routines.

    Two years seems a lot but it'll whizz past and you'll be riding again. All the best for the recovery.

  • according to my experience the majority of the people don’t have a taste at all.

    cannot agree more! We need a list of people on here with next to no taste:
    @6pt
    @Fox
    @chrisbmx116
    ...

  • you’re very familiar with this place, if you start splitting you’re gonna get messages about the tiniest possible components.

    I would definitely take the bell please

    Love it

  • 2005 Rosie would have bought this in a heartbeat. We just need some way of getting the money back in time to her.
