Bought this yesterday as a winter commuter as it was advertised 60cm but that was c-t and it's too small for me. I'm 6'3" and don't want a ridiculous seat post.
The gent I bought it off has owned it since new (purchased 2nd Aug 1983). He's had it hung in his living room and I can't see any evidence of it being ridden. The teeth on the chain ring and cassette are all square with barely any wear.
Wheels spin beautifully, chrome is perfect and all the adjustable parts slide effortlessly when loosened.
It's a good looking colour too - oak green with gold detailing.
Seat tube: 58cm c-c
Top tube: 58cm c-c
Down tube: 63cm c-c
Comes with mud guards, rear rack. All parts original as far as I can see.
Wow £181 when new .but £300 is not a bad price.
I have one of these and it's very nice for eating up some miles. Definitely recommended. I think mine's 62cm c-c and I (6ft) still had to swap out the seatpost for a longer one, so I'm not surprised this was too small for you.
The rack and saddle on that aren't original, but everything else looks to spec. The front mech is different from mine, but it's the right brand and era, so possibly a mid-run change?
I have a large Raleigh royal in very good condition, to big for me, need to double check measurements it's either 60cm or 63. Would be interested in a swap?
Sold this to user120121 yesterday evening for £300. Like the Elmore James reference in the name (assuming that's the reference)
Cool, looks like a really nice bike!
If your interested in the Raleigh let me know, it's in the the loft but I think it's time to sell. I need to get the motivation to bring it down but I'll put an advert up soon.
Haha thanks, Robert Johnson originally but Elmore James did a good cover!
Ah yeh - Robert Johnson. Thanks for the offer of the Raleigh but my gf is not allowing any more bikes in the flat. I've run out of hiding places
Is this still for sale?
Sorry as mentioned in the thread sold this to user 120121 for £300
