Massively off-topic - this is a home-made frame made by me for pressing apples (or other fruit) with a car jack. The technique is demonstrated in this video (not mine) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_6jObrHhPQ
. Or see these instructions from Jamie Oliver
I had plenty of success with this over the years but my apple tree is now cut down so surplus to requirements.
In action - please note only the frame is for sale, not the jack or trays etc.
Measures approx 80cm sq and 38 cm wide including the threaded rods. Obv. pick up only from close to High Wycombe.
No idea of pricing so how does £20 sound which is probably less than the materials cost me? probably limited appeal here so will be going to ebay at the end of the weekend.
This is the most gloriously delightful OT in the history of OT's!
I'm not local to you, so can't help, but I'd be interested in a blueprint of the rig if you have? We've got apple trees growing on communal land immediately adjacent to us. It'd probably end in tears...
Ha, thanks! I didn't have a blueprint, just read some of the guides on the internet (e.g. that Jamie Oliver one linked in my first post, found some very sturdy timber and screwed it all together. You will see that the one in the Youtube vid is a little neater than mine but they all get the job done. Just needs to be heavy duty timber as a lot of pressure is being exerted.
Fair play. Was the end result successful? 🤪
Yes it was great, I would make up to 20 litres of cider each Autumn
Perhaps @eldweebio might know someone who wants this, he’s a cyder player...
Might have a buyer. Keep you posted.
If I can get him to buy it, I’ll take an annual tithe of Worcestershire scrumpy... 😊
Can I buy this? (Edit: If there comment above mine doesn't)
I'm working in Iver on Thursday and Friday, can pick up Thursday AM or Friday PM?
@scotts @Oui3Kings - I wasn't expecting a dibs war on this one. First with the cash can take it.
