A 140KM round trip to visit #1 The Thames.
Leaving at 00:01 from London on Saturday morning to get out to the Hoo Peninsula for first light. Maybe do some tourism on the way back.
Meet up spot TBC.
All welcome, I'll be riding 70.55GI (48×18) with 25C tires.
Quick-social, waiting at non-obvious corners, t-shirts and denim type of ride.
As with everything these days, weather permitting..
So far it looks like me and one other with two soft-confirmations.
PM for the east meet-up or 00:30 tonight at south entrance Woolwich Foot Tunnel.
For the way out, to keep it flat, main roads for the first twenty kms.
Should be quiet though.
I am going to bring a face mask, maybe it woud be possible to catch the Tilbury Ferry on the way back and come up through Rainham.
would love to do this... pretty unlikely it will happen though
Ah I see, that is what the mask if for - going on the ferry.
I'd been planning on riding the Chilterns Cycleway this weekend but the chance of getting rained on has put me off, and this looks like the best window for good weather for solstice weekend. I'll definitely try make it.
Probably going to get people to meet at mine (E10) if north of river or at 00:30 south side of the Woolwich Foot Tunnel.
Or anywhere along the route after midnight (but let me know where to expect you).
Looks like the coolest it will get is 13°, just before the dawn.
I wonder if we could get away with a little fire on the pebble beach?
Long time no see!
If you do come bring a face mask.
People are also welcome on gears but the pace is fixed.
The only piece of Rapha I prize is my buff. Meeting at Woolwich eh... good stuff.
i'll be at woolwich.
start a names list? ;)
couldn't help it xD
Kids these days, can't do lists.
I still qualify as a kid :) yay
Looks like a nice small group.
a small Gang now :)
If I manage to wake up I will join in - just checking Woolwich Foot Tunnel, is that the south entrance to the Ferry? Sorry to be clueless.
South, we should be there at 00:30.
8 of us.
Looks like a slight tailwind, should be good.
Leaving Woolwich in 5.
Leaving at 00:01

Uh. what day this ride is eluded me. Turns out I was 24hrs out.
Thanks for that Ollie. Gen X I think you’ll find.
I thought exactly the same thing!
I guess I assumed it was a midsummer thing.
