yea pretty sure its been mentioned but social media really does bring out the shite in people, watched that Rashford documentary the other day that mentioned he is the most trolled player in the premier league now and for what? saying he should stick to football, makes me feel a bit sick when I think of what he is trying to do.

Also sharing what Kehinde Andrews wrote about 2020 and how its important to focus on the scale of the changes that can be made by BLM.
https://make-it-plain.org/2020/12/23/the-wave-that-never-was-antiracism-in-2020/
Thankful that this thread has been here to vent/think/talk over the year. Thanks to @chokalateboywonder for starting it off and to the people of the forum for talking about racism with an open mind. H.N.Y

Got to say there’s no better show of white privilege than what’s going on in Washington right now.
The difference in approach and action/inaction in relation to a majority white crowd storming the Capitol, and stopping the senate confirming the election results and the BLM protests over the summer are so stark as to be laughable.Where’s the tear gas, the plastic bullets, the riot police?
And imagine the response if those BLM protestors had come armed?Fuck me!

Pics here showing the contrast.

Now I agree with you corny, you are right and not the only one saying that, but that is not the point I am failing to understand. The problem I have is people comparing the 'corbyn' people reaction to what is going on in the US compared to the BLM distruction of the bristol statue. How is that even a comparable?
Can you suffer from fatigue of hate?
Bit too tired to typed and think. will add more
Got called a white traitor on social media, I wish I could have posted the link from In Bruges about the blacks against the whites...

Listening to the Archers on R4 about themes relating to modern slavery practice and slaves building barns in rural Britain pre and post emancipation. Is this the BBC’s strategy to educate people in the UK to own their history and a reaction to BLM.
btw Im not suggesting that the forum should tune in, just a footnote for this thread.
Also at my work the newly formed ED&I group has no black representation across the UK and Ireland offices. Equally we have no one in senior positions represented as ethnic other.
And they don’t understand why, seems bloody obvious really.
I stated that we must find our current and future talent in-house across the spectrum of diversity, celebrate that, promote uncomfortable conversations without reprocussion to define our working practices/policies and not become another talking shop/tick box exercise to appease existing and further clients.

What a wonderful guy, also great story about Paul Gascoigne (aged 9) protecting David and his sister at school against bullying..
It wasn't really in his interest to be looking after this couple of black kids. And I'm very grateful for that

Working my way through Britain's most historic towns on all4 after watching the most recent one as it's Manchester based. Currently on S02E02 which is Bristol and filmed a few years ago, fair amount of stuff about the slave trade including a certain statue that's no longer in place that's awful and interesting. Shows that it's been a controversial name for a while and dunking it in the harbour didn't just come out of nowhere.

Account of the riot from Black Capitol Police officers. Unsurprisingly, they feel let down and ignored.

So while making the Plague Island stickers, There was another idea in the back of my mind.
In my head (blame the wasted art degree) I can envisage these poster-sized on a gallery wall, in lurid bright colours, think pop-art modernism pukes postmodern conceptualism, clashing, and shiny.
Giant eyeball-burning posters, a set of five, under the title “Dirty Words”...
Fuck
Shit
Cunt
Arse
Black Lives Matter
Of course, even if I was back at being an exhibiting artist this is hardly the climate for presentation of work in a gallery, and all the politics of display that comes with that.
You lot are smart enough to get the joke.
Anyway, that isn’t going to happen. So, I’m thinking I may do another run of credit-card-size stickers with a hefty chunk to charity.
Ideally, sold as a set, but of course that sixth one could be in larger quantities.
I don’t know if there’s interest enough, or where to direct the funds. I would prefer that it goes to the right place.

Yes mate. In terms of where the funds could go, BLM UK has closed the go fund me page but they have linked these other appeals. I would put a vote in for number 6.

If you don't want your list numbering messed up, change the numbers to 1), 2), etc. Markdown processes lists numbered with 1., 2., etc. in a strange way. Just thought it was relevant here because you refer to number 6, which I don't actually get in this list, because you've left out spaces in two of the entries. (I assume it should look the same for everyone but don't know for sure.) Were you referring to Black Mothers Matter?

Thanks Oliver fixed it now. Yes, was referring to Black Mothers Matter.
Got a link?
