• At the end of next week I'm doing a 12 hour ride with my mate, and we are looking for appropriate places to stop for breakfast (c.8am) in Farnham, lunch in Littlehampton, and then massive carb gorge afternoon break point in Uckfield.

Wondered if anyone on here could assist with suggestions of places that in the current circs are both open and appropriate for these three stopping points? Very grateful for any pointers - anything within a few mile radius of those points would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • Try toast littlehampton Norfolk road
    Currently cant sit in
But do a full menu to takeaway
    Near the pitch and putt
    2 mins to the beach
    Nice trad cafe
phone and order as very busy could wait a hour other

Cafe below look and see centre again currently can not sit
    More upmarket lovely sandwiches
Prawn and crayfish or the fish finger both can recommend salads are divine
Next to life boat station opposite the marina
    Think it's called harbour lights

Or the turd on the beach
Again next to the pitch and putt
Not sure its name but it's facade is made from rusting metal and glass

    Again takeaways only
Bit more upper class fish curries etc
    Nice food but reasonable prices

Grab your choice and sit on the beach

  • That's brilliant, thank you very much :)

Sounds like Harbour Lights will be ideal if not too busy

  • Have now found Courtyard Cafe and Cafe 212 in Uckfield, both of which look viable. So just a Farnham option needed, if anyone knows one. Thanks!

  • Krema Coffee House is probably the best coffee in Farnham and also does good food - seems they're currently open from 7.30am. Bike parking might be a bit tricky though. Nice grassy bits to sit nearby if you're happy to takeaway.

  • Excellent, really appreciated - there'll be a couple of us so take away and sitting on the grass with the bikes will work. Thanks!

  • Or the turd on the beach
Again next to the pitch and putt
Not sure its name but it's facade is made from rusting metal and glass

    East Beach Cafe

  • Route tip...
Avoid Bury Hill near Arundel. It’s a nightmare, steep and with 2 blind bends for drivers.

  • Noted, thanks!

  • Thanks, got that down as an option if Harbour Lights doesn't work out

  • Did you eat in littlehampton

  • Ha, we did indeed - Farnham, nothing was open including Krema πŸ˜”... Went round and round the one way gyratory bit and finally settled for waitrose, standing outside wet and chilly

Littlehampton - Harbour Lights open, awesome fish and chips, sat on the dockside in the sun and loving life 😁

Uckfield, nothing was open including both the places I'd identified... Wandered fruitlessly up and down the street, ended up going to subway - the only option, and I'm sure the last stretch was slightly harder as a result 😬

So all in all, great shout for Littlehampton!

  • Glad you enjoyed
If you are down this way again
same owner has another cafe in felpham near bognor regis
During good times prior to the virus the menu changes early evening
The duck with chilli noodles is superb
    Decent food reasonable prices
    Good cycling down that way
It's called the lobster pot again right on the seafront
Great menu and plenty of places to park up and chill if the seating issues haven't changed

    • nice bikes
  • Cheers might be a while before we do it again but will remember that too!

    And thanks!
