I'm looking to fit a rear rack for touring and shopping purposes to my steel road bike.
Unfortunately the bike doesn't have rack eyelets so I'm just wondering if anyone has recommendations for a good rack that will work using the quick release skewer instead? I'm not looking to carry really heavy loads but a lot of the options I've seen while out and about do look quite flimsy?
Use a Carradice saddle bag - Audax or Nelson - with the Bagman QR support clamped to your saddle rails. Much better.
Tubus Disco looks decent if you are set on panniers. It’s designed for disc brakes but you could probably bodge it.
I toured round the US and Canada with a rack attached with p clips. They'll cost you about a fiver. Then pick whatever rack suits your budget.
