Not sure if this is the right place to post.
Did Reynolds 531 ever come with a 27.0 seat post tube sizing? I’ve got a frame badged 531 but I’d always assumed 531 was always 27.2?
If the frame is english made then 27.2, correct me if I'm wrong...
Overtightened? Is the slot at the back straight?
Also depends on the age of the frame? Have a 1960 531 double-butted which is 26.4 yet all the other four (531, 531c x2 and 531 DB) are all 27.2 - but what @PhilDAS says...
Rumour has it that 531 for the French has a narrower seat post. Also rumour has it that large frames had thicker tubes with narrower seat posts........
My Dutch made 531 frame takes a 27.0, could be due to it having been over tightened though.
I’ve got a late 50s claud butler 531 frame that’s 27.0
