I thought he caught it outside the country and brought it back.
Yep. Special needs, so we have a lot of kids in. Lots of staff off self-isolating too. I've had a tight chest, sore throat and a fairly regular cough (but no extended bouts), and just trying to work out what to do. We have two small children who will have to use childcare this week as we're both teachers.
thanks, I'll check them.
real talk. should i be thinking about rearranging my wedding in august?
5 months out, but i’m starting to think getting dates in early before next years bookings are added onto this years moved dates...
edit: it’s in central london, ~120 people
Yes. This won't be over in 5 months. Even if the virus isn't upon us anymore (big if), people will be skint and grieving. It might well be just what you and yours need - but the timing is still too dicey.
^Yep, I'd look at pushing it to 2021 when things will hopefully be much happier. Or do it via Zoom.
I can’t see anything in the news about ventilators it would be great if someone had an update.
They said we have lots.
But a few days ago put out a guidance on specifications for those manufacturing or supplying https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/specification-for-ventilators-to-be-used-in-uk-hospitals-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak
So maybe we don't yet have lots, but we hope to.
The annonced yesterday that they're getting an extra 1200 from private providers. Haven't seen anything else since the report that they were testing one of the privately manufactured ones earlier in the week.
They have 8,000 and want 20,000 more. Supposedly have a protype they are testing
Ps - you feeling any better?
Ah right - i'll stand down.
Also this (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2020/03/21/smiths-group-ramps-ventilator-production-amid-coronavirus-shortage/) which says there'll be 5000 more delivered in 14 days by a manufacturer sharing their IP. But I can't read the whole article.
Thanks for the updates. Let’s hope it can be made to happen.
Or consider just getting married without guests.
Looked like my partner had a cold but now he has a fever. Lockdown time. He has asthma, it is very wel controlled luckily. But we have to be careful and monitor.
We have food for a few days, there are some Tesco slots, the local community can get more in of we need to, so it's not all bad.
My son was over yesterday, so now my ex also has to go in lockdown for two weeks.
At least we have WFH to keep us busy...
Are you in the NEU? Talk to your rep.
There’s very specific guidance against getting all staff together, for good reason.
Gtech have a ventilator design they’re sending to government and will make available to other manufacturers if approved - they can make 100 a day themselves apparently...
Thanks for sharing that it looks hopeful.
I am. We have all the rota sorted, staff in max once a fortnight. Imagine asking all in when we are meant to be social distancing and working from home..? Beggars belief!
This is good on the low mortality rates in Germany. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/22/germany-low-coronavirus-mortality-rate-puzzles-experts
Is anyone on here in the advised to stay at home for 12 weeks vulnerable group? Or living with somebody who is?
