Top opportunity at GCN to work on a new project focused on pro bike racing.
Knowledge of cycling is pretty important, being organised too...
You'd have to move to Bath/Bristol area, but this is a great opportunity if you're interested in working in the best sport in the world, and at the buzziest media house:
Someone needs to research as to why there is only 1 female presenter out of 13 across GCN and GMBN
A: Inherent bike-industry sexism
Link to the “top opportunity”?
@leggy_blonde ...I've noticed that as well. :/
@croft That's a big factor, but you'd think it would be in their interest to capture a wider audience with more diversity, no?
Recruited but can't retain women....?
Unwelcoming, unwilling to listen or change... ?One size fits all attitude...?
Emma was a big loss to them.
Its the mamil top gear show sponsored by orbea.
I'd second that comment from pacef8. Emma Pooley, was such a breath of fresh air when she joined the team.
I liked Emma, but Manon is great as well. A bit awkward on camera at first, but now she's great! Hoping she sticks around.
Don't worry, they've hired another white, male, former pro in the last few days.
There are some on gtn as well...
Maybe because women don’t make great choppers.
I daresay Emma Pooley has better things to do with her life than comment on bike races. :)
Just looked up her Wikipedia entry, and realised I didn't know how much she's won in duathlon and triathlon.
