Can anyone tell me how and how much to get a tourist visa to Russian.
You've got to be 'invited' by a Russian business - so of course, there are businesses that are set up just to issue invites. I last went ten years ago, but it cost about $150 including the company fee. I don't have a recommendation for a good company though.
I did it in 2018. It was £170 to be done in 6 weeks or £270 to be done in 5 days.
You need to be invited (LOI letter of invitation) but you can Google this and get one, I recall it was £15 and it can be done by a hotel that you stay in (min of 2 different hotels).
There's a website about traveling in the 'stans called caravanistan and they may have more information about Russia.
Do it directly with the official visa office. Companies like the visa machine don't do anything you can't and charge a premium.
you can go "visa free" for a few days if you take the ferry from Nordics
When I went a couple of years ago I used this company . I was visiting my mate who lived in Moscow at the time, but looking back at the application process he actually recommended I use a random hotel for the address where I was staying, rather than his place, so there was obviously no advantage in knowing someone already living there. (Unlike 1996, when he wrote me a letter of invitation.)
