is SSWC just a big group ride with beer and sausage?
-

Something like that. I've only been to one, in Oz.
Drinking, riding mountain bikes and shenanigans were the name of the game.
This one is a lot closer than the last few so I'm waiting for some details of when it's on. -

Sounds like a joliday!

MTB?

I mean, technically you don't have to but it's generally a MTB race. A bloke in Oz raced a fixed wheel postie bike whereas I was barely hanging on to a full rigid steel GT.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out. I did SSUK a few times back in the day and they were great fun!

Rumors are it's going to be after summer somewhere around Houffalize.

Well if the photo is any guide, it's around Dinant. But anyway, it's usually October-ish I thought?

Pretty please! http://chouffe.com/

If you like trappist style ale, Rochefort, Chimay and Orval. Oh and Rulles..

If you like trappist style ale
Are you new here?
IF?

That whole reply was messed up, but fair point. Anyway, they're all not that far away. One of the restaurants or bars next to the Orval monastery supposedly has some special barrels and vintages in the cellar. Not sure if it's true or just local urban legend.

Depends where it is, if it's in Houffalize, then Orval is 75k away, Rochefort 60k. If you've only got a singlespeed then doing a 150k round trip with the second half probably paralytic, I'm not sure. Achouffe and Lupulus are closer. One day I'll get that Belgium brewery loop done...

Mate plotted a route to do the Belgian and the Dutch trappist breweries. Tried to rope me in as it's doable in a few days if you don't drink. Which sort of defeats the purpose.

if you don't drink
Yeah, literally pointless, unless you're some kind of Cecemel fetishist.
