On the hunt for a 1inch steel fork.
Steerer must be atleast 26cm unthreaded or 23cm threaded.
Drilled to take a brake.
Or iv been thinking alternatively to get a 1inch disk fork made. has anyone done this before?
I possibly have something, but are you fussed about any particular colour or it being chromed? But maybe you've not mentioned this issue as you'd be stripping and repainting anyway.
Not too fussed about condition as I'll probobly just strip it or rattle can it black I'm in two minds.
Shoot me a few images when you can
Righto, so I've gotten around to finding the forks I was thinking of and they should be Ok for you. Looks like they're for 700c wheels, as I tried them on one and we're noticeably a closer fit than a 27" sized fork I used, although you will still need to use a brake with a fair amount of drop. And the steerer tube hasn't been cut down, so you'd need to do that if taking the fork. Here's some pics:
I have some tange champion 2s lying around then but tatty I will have to check steerer length
Could be interested in them pending steerer length, shoot me a photo when you can.
@walkmanman I think I'll pass of these looking for something the I could fit a normal brake to
Sure, no problem. Although if you don't like other forks offered then you could always get my one drilled out for normal brakes at most bike shops.
