Brake on pre-drilled fork

  • I want to put a front brake on a Cinelli Parallax. It’s got a predrilled fork, but still a cap on it. What’s the cleanest way to remove the cap in your experience? I don’t want to mess up the paint layer around the hole. I read that electric tape and a drill will do the job. What’s your take on that? Or should I just try to work the break bolt in?

Is it ok to use a drilled fork at the velodrome? (without break of course)

Long time ago I saw some plastic caps that you can put there when the brake is not on, but I cannot find a link to that anymore.

Yes. I reckon 50% of customer owned bikes have a drilled fork.

I’d look for ‘wiring bung’ or something related to car electricals or bodywork.

  • Cool, that's good to know.
