I have some video footage of a person who is performing a task, nothing out of the ordinary - they are in a workshop operating a hand tool.
I would like to visually highlight the path that the tool follows, so that the viewer will have their attention drawn to, and a permanent record made in real time, of the path that the end of the tool describes as it is operated.
Imagine that you are stirring something in a bowl, in that case I'd like a line to follow the end of the spoon, showing the track that the tip follows during the action of stirring.
Does that make sense?
Needless to say I have no idea how to accomplish this.
It sounds like you are looking for someone who is skilled in Adobe After Effects - especially with the Motion Tracking function.
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
