i have some trouble with the seatpost binder bolt of my colnago.
For removing the seatpost - is it necessary to remove the seatpost binder bolt completly? or just one side?
The right side was bombproof - no chance
I managed to remove the left side, still able to twist that seatpost, but couldn´t remove the seatpost without scratching it.
Maybe someone could help?
tool used: allen key
You don't need to remove either side, just loosen it off to release the seatpost, taking the bolt out won't loosen the tube any further.
You won't be able to stop scratching on the post unless you clean up the inside of the tube. You could go over it with a reamer or I've seen people use wire wool on a drill.
Then install it again with grease.
The collar may be pinched in too much. If you take the bolt out and get a big flat head screwdriver in there to gently open it up, it may stop the scratching. In my experience, that’s where the score marks occur.
thanks for the advices. While i´m at it - i´m thinking about, replacing the bearings of the bb & headset.
if i´m correct the bb & headset campagnolo 50th anniversary is "just" a Super Record one?
quite unsure about the correct size for the bearings.
