Removing freewheel from hub without spokes/rim

  • Ok, so this is what it looks like. I have the correct removal tool and a vice, but cant seem to Clamp it hard enough in the vice as its all round. Any advice?

  • IME there is no non-destructive way to clamp a hub in a vice sufficient to remove a freewheel.

    If you want to save the hub, build the non drive side into a rim.

  • There a a YouTube vid about lacing it with spokes and freezing the whole thing in a bucket of ice........ Easier just to lace it to a rim lol

  • Hammer a bunch of nails through a piece of wood so that they go through the spoke holes. Attach wood to vice.

    I guess lacing it up would be the most sensible thing, but I Will prob try the hammer and nail solution first
