Lea Valley Track Accreditation

  • Hi, does anyone know about dates in January to do the accreditation? Also what happens if the wheel nuts extend beyond the track nuts, I've got a Cinelli Vigorelli surely it's "track legal" thanks

On the track nuts thing, at Glasgow it'd depend who was on when you try to use the bike, if it's not by much I'll usually let the bike on but tell the owner to sort it for next time, others its just a flat no. It can be pretty damaging to the track if you fall off. If you've noticed it, do the right thing and just trim it and then you'll definitely get on.

As for your track bike being track legal, don't assume. Hoy's track bikes were coming with dual compound tyres which are definitely not track legal. If the axle extends beyond the track nuts, its not track legal.

We get people popping in with their bikes a week or so before they want to use them to have us check if they are good to go which I always think is a good idea.

  • Regarding January dates - LVV doesn't seem to release anything regarding schedule that far in advance. Info regarding accreditation on this link...

Definitely a good idea. I am in the process of going through accreditation at Glasgow and when/if I get through, I will definitely want my own bike. Though I suspect I might end up buy a Dolan which are very similar if not identical to the hire bikes so good to go, I assume.
