A thread for frames with tubing issues that are essentially NOT RIDEABLE but are free to anyone who wants to have a go at repairs, or use for practice, spare parts, etc.
So I have this old 60 cm Cross Check with damaged chain stays. They have been crimped despite my best effort to follow the Surly guidelines on kickstands. This frame is NOT RIDEABLE but if you want to have a go a fixing it, you are welcome to have it. .
This is perfectfor practising making yokes and TIG welding...
Thread should be renamed, free frames for Hulsroy
Suggestions for yokes welcome...
I have one of those. But that's way to nice for this.
I think I'll try a Hunter inspired yoke
Edit: I'll take this over to my own thread
anyone have a dead frame i can chop up for tig practice?
Yes I have a Peugeot your welcome to it’s broken at a rear dropout collection E8
ooh yeah thatd be great
I’d be interested in a dead frame for my welding practice
Can you collect from Archway?
Sure. It’s not too far away from me. What frame do you have?
Some steel Italian frame, its got chrome stays and stuff. Seat tube has a split in the middle, top tube and dt have bent too I think. Please just take it..
Anyone want a free frame, the one I mentioned above is still available and my neighbours are getting pissed off
@PhilDAS interested for sparky metal gluegun practice?
Texting him about it but I think he may be away for a little while at the moment
Just realised that post was a month ago, I think I need my eyes tested.
Haha no he does still have it so is relevant
