I CBA to try to work out which little track that the blue line on the manual is meant to be on, and most likely make loads of mistakes, when I will get a soft copy with the correct version at some point. I'm focusing my time on mapping the bits between the parcours

This is what I've done, as I've not paid the final bit yet.
Anyone tempted to go via those three nice looking lagoons?
-
• #904
Only the dogs in Romania and Kentucky have actually been bad. The ones in Turkey and Greece just sometimes scare the shit out of you when they can actually be arsed to move and jump out of a bush near you or something. I've not ridden much in Bulgaria so that's my only unknown wrt dogs on this race.

three nice looking lagoons
Where at? I have a thing for bodies of water during races. Normally canals but I can make an exception.

I was wondering that, Venice...?

Between Turin and CP4 you are spoilt for choice then!!
Last time I was there the high passes were closed so had to hitch through the Fejus Tunnel.

Still no idea where that is. Mont Cenis Lake?
-
• #911
Are you going via Turin to CP4?
If so there are only really three options that I can see to Valloire.
(Remember I don't have the pacours so things could change I guess.) -
• #912
Mont Cenis is another option
-
• #913
Yeah. That and Garello are the only bits of water I see.
-
• #914
Well I suspect some might go via Nevache
-
• #915
Also post this Pyrenees jaunt, you'll go via the Galibier right??
-
• #916
Is there even a road there?
-
• #917
I've ridden the Galibier before. It snowed. I'll pass unless I have to, thanks.
-
• #918
The parcours goes over the Galibier!
If you send me your email address I'll ping you the manual. You might be wasting a lot of time...
-
• #919
It does? Fuck.
-
• #920
Galibier... pass
LOL
-
• #922
"CP4 will start at Valloire and follow beautiful sweeping curves of the Galibier pass and
the Romanche river before ascending once more towards a network of gravel paths dotted with tiny traditional hamlets leading to the ski resort of Huez."Ahh cock
-
• #923
Don't worry, it'll probably be dark.
I'll just ride up it at 5 mph for a few hours and catch up on my emails. -
• #924
This is why I need them to release the bloody parcours! There's no text on their maps!
-
• #925
I always seem to get to the big Italian climbs in the dark but this year is backwards so who knows.

Whoever told you water bottle spray is effective was having a laugh! I have actually tried it and can confirm it doesn't work. Nor does shining a light in their face, or throwing them food.
The best strategy is to ignore them!
Unless it is a downhill bit, they can all run faster than you can pedal
99+% of them want to play 'chase'. The faster you ride, the faster they will run to just not quite catch you.
<1% of them want to bite you - like the one that bit the first three finishers in TABR last year. In that case there is pretty much nothing you can do about it. If you stress that each dog that chases you could be the biter, you'll spend a lot of time stressing, as there are a lot of dogs!
