  • Paint sounds great, looking forward to that! Personally Iโ€™d go for LB and Hope

  • Wheels choice/tinkering still on-going ...

  • LB x DT350

but go deeper like 45 or 50
    or 50 back 35 front

  • In ordered the hunt wheels for now. Figured that'll be an upgrade to deep carbon stuff on DTS at some point when I got $$$ again.

  • Just picked up the wheels from @arup ๐Ÿ‘Œ

  • Last piece of the puzzle picked up through Condor:

  • Ever so close now! Cannot wait!

  • Does it clear 25c tyres

  • Colour scheme is amazing!

  • very nice, why QR at the back?

  • Didn't really feel needed, it was something we spoke about and although it makes sense at the front it makes a little bit less sense at the rear. It's easier to find replacements on long rides and this bike isn't likely to see a huge amount of gravel type riding so I think QR will do the trick imo.

  • good call ๐Ÿ‘

  • Oof that looks lovely.

  • it makes sense at the front it makes a little bit less sense at the rear.

Why's that? Because the front spacing is only 100mm?

Frame looks fantastic. Great colour (choice).

  • More braking power at the front and discs required more precise alignment that rim brakes do. Also you get less of a choice at the front based on available forks that are disc compatible etc... Thanks, super happy with how the colour turned out and I think with the BB, headset and hubs in orange it will pop out even more while staying "subtle"

  • mildo photobomb

  • Took me a while to realise 1) what a mildo is (a thought you meant mild and it was a typo) and then 2) went back to the pics looking for a dildo ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • FWIW, I also have TA front and QR rear on my Talbot and have done for over two years now. Has been totally chill. No problems to speak of whatsoever. Yes, it would be nice to have TA because, if I'm honest, I think they're easier to remove when you've got discs and all that shit going on, but QR really is fine.

  • Thanks for the reassurance! If you haven't had any issues with this setup yourself I'm sure I'll be fine.

    Still loving the bike?

  • Yeah, like I say, less easy to remove but totally fine.

And yep! Every time I think, ah, I'd like a race bike, I ride mine and those thoughts all just disappear. So versatile. Currently in summer mode sans mudguards and lights. Would be even more versatile if I had space for a second set of lighter wheels but unfortunately NY apartment sizes do not allow for that... Best decision I ever made though getting it made. Thanks @coldharbour and @hoops for convincing me :-)

  • Looks sick by the way.

  • And here it is in its full glory! Picked up yesterday from Mitcham and couldn't be happier. Headset needs to be changed to the orange one when that arrives and I've already swapped the bottle cages for the King ones but otherwise we're good to go!

The overall finish of the bike that Matt has managed to achieve is superb and the paint looks insane in the light with lots of different layers and subtle sparkles. Already in love!

Shakedown 160km ride on Sunday, cannot wait!
