At last, I think we can call the frame finished. Now it’s time to put the thing together.

These reason for the random orange paint?
I already had an unused rattle can from a previous project that never got past the primer stage- I thought it looked good in grey.

That’s awesome!
Where did you get the kit from? I am contemplating a saddle rail repair (so will need a much smaller kit) -

Paint = Extra Weight
this. If you were really committed you'd be chopping more bits off, you don't need two chainstays.

Good job, wonder if repairs like this indeed influence how the frame rides - I've heard a statement like this in the past. How much do you think the complete build will weight? What's the goal?

I never got round to posting pictures of this thing finished.
•Lots of cheap eBay carbon.
•Super Record crankset, minus big ring.
•Dura-ace Di2 derailleur.
•Climbing buttons and Alfine display as fwd junction box
•Super-six HiMod forks
•KEO Blade pedals with Ti axles
•Conti Sprint tubulars

Final weight?

A few more pictures.
I haven’t weighed it, it’s light.
I haven’t added up the cost, not bad, I had the crankset already.

Nice. You gonna race it?

Well, I’m a bit fitter than I was this time last year,(lockdown has it’s advantages). If I can make more progress over the summer I’ll try a few local Hill Climbs in the autumn.

With a machine like this you have to race!
I find a 40t front ring with 11-28 on the back ideal for a range of hills, though I favour 4 minute kinda things. You’ll want to be able to change gear while wrenching on the horns too.
