nice build!

It ended looking very similar to the AWOL!

Where did you buy it from btw? DiscountBike?
-
• #54
Big surprise ;)
Bought it from a bike shop in Oslo.
Cut the hoses and changed grips yesterday, so getting close to finished for now. Will sort out dynohub and lights later. Not really used to a heavy bike yet, but hopefully I'll manage.

£600 is a good deal, looks perfect for the job. I still want an AWOL purely from looking at yours.

Haha, good man. It did give me some nice trips.
The cool thing with the new commuter is that it’s pretty much ready for campouts now. The old framebag fits, so I can just load it up and go.
Here’s today with new grips, a bell and some very important stickers.

Awols are great, potential grail touring frame. It’s kind of silly Polish distribution gets only one piece in each size...
...I’ll get a Breezer!

Ok, nice build and everything, but holy fucking weld-omatic, the journey and end result of that bus is incredible. Get yourself to the car thread asap. More updates required please!

silver SP or SON?

SP SD-8. I would go for black, but it wasn't in stock.
DT R500 28h, Champion spokes and brass nipples. Total cost £195. Looking forward to building it at setting it up.

I'm looking for a frame that does exactly the same as this.
Any recommendations for framesets, anyone?

Silver/Black/Silver/Black? :)

If you're on a budget I'd go for an Intec frame from Bike24 (or Københavns cykelkooperativ).
Or consider a Brother Kepler, which you can get from Thunderfist, Cyklistbutikken or direct from Brother. They take smaller tyres though. -

Tak
Will look into Intec. Kepler doesn't accept wide enough tyres for me unfortunately. ( I think)

Sorry for hijack btw.
Build looks great! Such transformation!

Velbekomme!
I have a 26" Intec M1. It's brilliant and takes 2.35" tyres. Probably good for 27.5x2.0 too. -

Been a bit quiet from my side. A month ago I was riding to the pub with some friends, joking around, when one of them came too close and clipped our bars. We both went down and I landed head first. I probably wear a helmet 97% of the time, and of course that was not enough. I’ve been on sick leave since, and it sucks so bad. No permanent damage, but impossible to say when I’ll be back to working as a helmet designer full time. Yes.
Anyway. The bike is a tank. It bounced around and a third friend had to ride over it. Just some scratches. This week I finally hooked up the front light to the dyno hub. Haven’t tried in the dark yet and need to find a long cable to do the rear.

Ah, that sucks!
Hope you heal up well. -

Get well soon.

Ouch, hope you're ok?
I tried mounting my light like that both bolts stripped almost instantaneously. I need to drill them out and put a nut and bolt though the holes
