Just a heads up for anyone doing this,
Rapha has just sent a email stating the route has indeed been changed due to very poor conditions on certain sections of the route and as they wanted the event to be ridden in the spirit of PR on road bikes they have amended accordingly..
A new route GPX file has been sent and no doubt new route cards will be supplied..

Morning all,
I actually have a place sorted for this years ride as a regular punter not from the RCC but I am trying to work out if it is even worth getting to the start line, looking at the weather for the coming week it looks to be a total wash out and having spoken briefly with a lad from work who lives near Hadley wood he says the trails in the area are boggy and water logged.. I was also told by a fella at Rapha at the start of March that this year's route will be taking in more "Grave" than ever before, which in turn looks to mean thick mud if the weather continues..
So if you have done this ride previous what was the course like?, I will be stuck with 25c 4 seasons which work great on hard pack or light wet trails but will be totally useless on anything resembling Epping forest as it is at the moment, I may have the option of getting my hands on a pair of Challenge Strada Bianca's but honestly I would like to avoid this...
Over that weekend I will be away and travelling a substantial distance to get down there on time for sign on, I am trying to work out if it is worth the trip or to get in a training ride where I will be located..
The obvious options is to use a Cyclocross/Gravel bike, sadly I no longer own one and my mountain bike is older than Jesus and in far worse condition....
Gotta love the weather in spring it can either be 20 degrees with bright sunshine or snowing, but that is the chance you take I guess with events this time of year....
