Not to give anyone spaceship envy, but ...

Some very good designs, and then some that are just big.

A friend of mine has just bought this.
£649 of awesomeness. I'm tempted to fly to Calgary (where he lives) to help him build it!

Spain biggest toy store had the Falcon at £150 off recently.
I almost got the Credit card out before I remembered I need to buy a new boiler this year...

I have a plastic box full of random Lego which we get out for our nieces and nephews when they come to visit. There were a couple of partly built vehicles left from some old sets and someone asked if I'd ever tried to rebuild them. The thought had never crossed my mind. So, after finding the instructions online I rebuilt the 1994 Fire Station.
I was shocked that 98% of the pieces were actually still in there. Sadly the base plate is no longer. Anything structurally missing I replaced with something els and any no structural I just left off, other than a propeller blade.
In the box is also a NASA low loader and helicopter, some jet skis, a car wash, and some little space ship thingies.

Ha, well done!

My brother had this set! I remember being amazed by the roller shutters!

Are the two serrated 1x2 bricks at the front of the fire engine meant to be at different orientations?
-
• #311
No, sadly one of the missing pieces. Although I really need to sort the box out into different size pieces as there are possibly one or two bits in there.

The receptionist is missing as well as an extendable light that goes on the back of the car. And a few other bits and bobs.

I also have this. The chassis of the trailer is still together and I'm hopeful I have enough bits to get it 95% back together too.

£12-£15 for the base plate. A lot but not a lot right?!

A large variety of prices via BrickLink, and generally much cheaper:

Thank you!
I couldn't seem to navigate to the market place on there.

I had that same fire engine, also loved the roller shutter doors.
I tried to find it at home the other day but had no luck, I discovered you can buy a complete one on brick link for about £15

Ok, it has begun. OH scored a couple of crates of Duplo on eBay for our toddler. We now have 2 boxes of bricks including 4 front vehicles, about 10 trailers with train tops and wagons, house parts, a playground, various older-style animals and people and a big fire engine. One crate was 99p and the other one was £1.50!
Now to build some random stuff!

Lidl should have a few little sets in the middle aisle this week for £7, I think there is Duplo, regular and Technic sets due.
Obviously they will be little ones, but I think a couple of quid cheaper than normal. -

Nah, the hunt is part of the joy!

I find it impossible to resist these little sets when I find them in lidl for a few €'s!

Yey! Won't get built for a while as I'm busy, busy, busy but looking forward to it.
Especially as it'll light up at the end.

A very good design here that is a lot better than the AT-TEs that LEGO itself has done. I say this without having any knowledge of the films that this may have appeared in, or indeed of the Star Wars 'universe', but it seems obviously better to me. The only thing that's a bit off is that the ramps that open on the sides seem to have a long drop to where the actual steps on them begin, and while that may not be possible is the one bit that I think would benefit from a redesign (much though I agree that it's good how the panels slot into the sides of the vehicle).

Warning--it's basically an advert for selling the build instructions that seem to part-finance BrickVault, but I think it's an enjoyable video all the same.
