  • I see. Columbus does nice R800 bend seat tubes in 550mm. They might have started making them longer now. I had one made custom for my MTB - 600mm I think. Stayer ordered 10 directly from Columbus. Maybe get in touch with Sam and ask if he will sell you one.

  • Exactly what I'm planning to use, the seattube in the second image is a ZON113550110F. If anything it's a bit long actually. Can't cut the top because of the external butting, so the bend already is a tad lower than it'd ideally be. But I also need to take into account the maximum extension of the PNW Rainier.

  • Cool beans

Sorry for not keeping up and just shooting wild with suggestions on an uninformed basis

  • No worries, it's reaffirming to see that my ideas aren't completely outlandish. My frame building experience is limited to fidgeting in CAD and sending a list of tubes and measurements to Jaap.

  • a nimble frame that weighs 60kg

    Sounds heavy for a frame.

  • Need to level the saddle, shorten the outers, and trim the cables. The dynamo lights are great, wouldn’t go for a Shimano hub on a bike I ride in anger but for a commuting bike it’s perfect.

  • The fact that no one has an opinion on this confirms that it might be a bit tame, back to the drawing table. Would like something that ties them together without just spraying them the same colour. Although I could get one of those blue SIDs and go for identical paint schemes.

Also, with the graveler almost finished I need to re-organise my Kelleranteil to make space for more bikes. It's become a right mess.

    Could and should

  • Ordered this stem in 80mm for the graveler, not sure if I like but at least it’s not as boring as a Kalloy Uno.

  • I like it. Looks like a deda Superzero

  • Looks good!

  • Project cellar reorganization is in full force, ordered a big shelving unit to sort out all of the boxes. Just need to figure out how to have a bike left of the Kona standing upright, has anyone tried those Clug thingies?

  • The graveler is supposed to be finished, should be making its way to me via multiple friends sometime soon. Can't wait.

The mountainbike is nearing something that might be a final design, or at least geo and tubing wise. Lots of small choices to be made in terms of cable routing and zits. And I need to check if I have the fork A2C sussed out, something looks off but it might just be the model I'm using as a mockup.

68 degree headtube, 74 degree effective seattube, 425mm chainstays, 2.5" clearance.

Clearance probably via little cutouts like this, or maybe dimples. That's up to the 'fabricant artisanal'.

  • Checked @Hulsroy 's model against the actual forks, made some modifications and I think it's good enough now.

  • Looks nice dude

  • I'm considering going tapered because it opens up the triangle a bit and I like the drop-in nature instead of requiring brute force to install and remove a headset.

  • And the increased cost of a tapered head tube is offset by being able to use a cheap headset because you barely see it anyway. Or so I told myself before I bought a CK DropSet for the gravel bike.

  • Really liking those renders. What software do you use for these?

  • Look awesome! I generally dont like the look of a tapered ht. But really works!
