It prevents the forks from rotating and slamming into the bike frame when panniers are loaded and I am not actually able hold the bars still. It's pretty convenient when handling the kids and groceries etc

Ah, thank you :)

Tough decision. Apart from the tall size there should be little problem selling it, no?

It may be similar to those bikes, but do they also have paintwork that bangs that hard?

Are the reinforcements rings shaped to follow the contour of the headset?

Yes very much so. First attempt at this. I need to develop the process but it has potential

Ah yes, super nice!
You know what's left to do then - the matching stem with the integrated top cap.
I think @AugustBicycles did it for a time, but I can't find any pictures. -

Headtube with golf ball aesthetic and the tapered transition to the headset is insanely cool. Love the rear dropout design, especially the derailleur hanger

Cook Bros style with (golf) ball style attachment to the steerer would be chef's kiss
but probably really heavy and akward to machine

We still do it when clients request it.
A few variations for different headset styles for your viewing pleasure....

Is that last one El’s balance bike? Such a rad bike.

Not sure if that’s hers or the one we built for Ornamental Conifer in the states. Will say that bub has more custom bikes than we do. Probably the same for Hulsroy and his brood too!

golf ball aero head tube is wicked
excited to see the gravel bike colouri’ve stopped using instagram for a bit, have missed seeing your updates on there! maybe this bull catchup is a much nicer way though.

Not sure what bull catchup is but I am happy you left IG. I wish I could do the same. But I feel it will be commercial suicide.
Here's the forks for the aero bike I am working on.

Bulk* i should learn to check things.
and yeah it’s a real shame it feels so essential for any kind of business venture these days isn’t it

I refuse giving them money for marketing and will try to grow organically via word of mouth instead. Dream is to one day go back to a blog format of posting once or week or something like that. Really unhappy about LFGSS shutting down as well
Just took some photos of the forks as they sit mid process. Really happy with how they are turning out.

Beautiful work. I started to relearn to braze last week to teach my A-Level design students, and boy can you appreciate how hard and skilful it is to make fillet brazing look so good.
Proper craftspersonship. -
