How about something like this. Raleigh record sprint(space shuttle edition).
Reynolds 501 tubing, 8 speed shimano compact chainset with 8 speed shimano cassette and bar end shifters. Looking for £200 ish, I am at KT12 3EW, 5 minutes from Hersham station. Currently set up for me at 5ft 11".

Is that yours? I'm actually based in New Cross too...

Thanks for the response - not sure how I feel about bar end shifters, but I'll have a think about it :)

yep. needs some tlc. as in new bars and a new brake cable and new bar tape but has 105 shifters, 105 rear mech so given your budget is £400 you could afford the additonal to bring back upto servicable condition with in your budget. needs a good clean too! drop me a line if you want to view.

Hmmm - It's intriguing for sure. I know Roberts frames are nice...
I was hoping that the money would be going on something ready to ride rather than half of it on bringing something back to life.
What's wrong with the current bars, and do you have any more photos??
Cheers

the bars as just a bit bent from bashing in and out of my flat. it doesn't bother me.
The brake cable should be an easy fix which once done makes the bike 100% rideable.
basically all easy fixes I just don't have the time or inclination at this point to do it hence the sale
Pm me your email and I send some pictures this evening or if you're in new cross you're welcome to pop over and take a look. pictures don't really do the paint work justice. in pictures it just looks black whereas in person you can see the lovely sort or sparkle effect

Ok cheers mate, will do!
-
• #10
what do you mean with "pretty good condition"? Aesthetically or functionally?
-
• #11
both to be honest, although, of the two, functionality is of prime importance

If OP doesn't take the Roberts, I definitely will. It's exactly the bike that I want. I've dropped you a text.

Enjoy the bike. Hope you got back ok

Yeah, man. Decided to take the tube with the bike. Wasn't the best way, but I didn't want to chance it on those brakes!
OP, have a free bump. Hope you find what you're looking for soon :)

still looking? I've got this one (not with these wheels). Technically very good but aesthetically I'd give it a 6,5/10. Chrome is spotted and colour has faded a bit. But nevertheless a very rare and nice bike. It comes with a perfect working Campy Daytona 9 speed gruppo and MAvic Cosmos wheels (had their best time but still usuable).
I'm looking for 450 € shipped from Belgium.

More info: it's a Carrera made from fluted Nivacrom tubing. Cinelli lugs, dropouts and front forks. Will post more recent photos on monday.

Ok. What is it you found? Always curious to know what others ride (as I am huge fan of neo retro myself).

Pretty niche request but I'm looking to buy a vintage steel frame lovingly built up with modern parts - ideally with decent Columbus/Reynolds tubing. Would like drop bars with modern style shift levers and needs to be in pretty good condition!
Based in London, with a max budget of £400
