  • The new CDF comes in 853

  • Yes I had actually seen that, got it in my watch list. I will keep an eye on it, could be a good deal. It has some nice bits on it. Thanks!

  • there is a 56 disc equilibrium frameset in 931 stainless on ebay for 700£ or so

  • Hmm so there is. That could definitely be the do it all bike I am after. And also the added excuse of it being stainless so very long-lasting to justify the outlay

  • it's been there for a while, i have no idea why it doesn't get bought, these are crazy versatile for these latitudes.

  • The stainless ones are real nice

  • Croix de Fer question - the old 725 with the carbon fork blades. It features mid fork eyelets and single eyelets at the dropouts.

What are my recommended front rack mounting options?

  • When did they change to thru axles? Does that have QR or thru axles, cant really find anything definitive

  • also keen to learn about this...

  • I think the 931 was from about 2016. QR as far as I know but I've only seen one or two
The Equilibrium went TA from last year, 2018 afaik

  • I just bought a used one of these off ebay. Hoping to turn it into flatbar, mtb mix, functional commuter porn.

I know nothing about MTB groups, so here goes...

  • Can always just go for Sram because its nearly all mix and match

  • I emailed genesis once and they said you can't use the mid fork or the dropout eyelets for a rack, they're mudguard only.

  • Well that is not ideal.

  • 2 bikes one carbon forked CDF for bikepacking bags only, one steel forked cdf for front rack portage duties.

  • There's not really any carbon forks for use with racks

  • Have just started one in current projects - not much excitement yet i'm afraid unless you want to see the grubby insides of some TRP Spyres i've just rebuilt! Have most of a 5800 groupset & Praxis Alba chainset I picked up pretty cheap waiting to go on - been on the look out for some unoffensive mudguards that won't break the bank, however the wheels appear to have been trued by someone with a wonky truing stand at some point as they're both dished ~3mm off centre - so that's something else on the to-do list

  • unoffensive mudguards that won't break the bank

SKS every time. Their matt guards are generally really nice

  • Are you going to put a dynamo wheel on it?

  • Seems good value with 6800 hydro?

  • They say this because the dropout mounts are badly designed - mine failed - but I have been running a pizza rack on the mid fork eyelets without issue after seeing @Kluens use his without disaster.

  • If you do decide to sell, what is the size, price and would you consider postage?

  • Oh no... Don't tempt me. But everyone on the internet insists that carbon can't be done with a rack.

I'm not going to do it I already have my pelago rack that you recommended on my brother and it's very nice.

  • If you do decide to sell, what is the size, price and would you consider postage?

    pm'd you
