So it feels like I've done a thorough trawl of the internet for an answer to this question and asked several lbs's but I'm still not 100% sure. I am aware that Sram road shifters are compatible with both their rear and front mtb derailleurs because of their 'exact actuation' 1:1 cable pull ratio and indeed my rear derailleur is an X9 with a force shifter and working just fine. However what I want to know is will a shimano front mtb derailleur work with the force shifter. Some internet sources say No some say yes because supposedly the cable pull of sram and shimano front mtb derailleurs is the same and hence if Sram mtb front mechs the shimano should in theory too. Anyone on here had any experience in doing this?
Any input appreciated!
I should mention that this set up is being used with a shimano mtb crankset not a road crankset and hence its definitely an mtb front mech that is required.
