Odd derailleur mount?

Posted on
  • I picked up an Ambrosio Stelvio not long ago from the forum and I'm struggling to work out how to mount the front derailleur. There are two bolts which made me think some kind of bolt on plate was needed to attach a braze on mech, but the plates I've found have the bolts too close together. Bolt distance here CTC is 21mm.

any ideas where I could find this kind of plate would be great. Cheers.

  • http://soshanger.com have a good variety
Look have a 20mm CTC so one of their bolt on fellas should do the job

  • EDIT:

the 481 derailleur mount is right on the side of the seat tube whereas the two bolts for this mount are much further the front. I don't think it would work based on the angle the front mech would be at

  • Oh balls hadn't thought of that... it is in a weird place isn't it...
SOS are normally pretty good though, send them that photo and the measurement and they can point you in the right direction.

  • Even SOS don't know what is needed.

  • Maybe it was proprietary, I had one of these frames before this one and it didn't have a front mech hanger on it either

  • One of these maybe?

  • Like mentioned above maybe just 1x10 is an option. If you wanna go 2x you can buy a band on adaptor for a fraction of the price of most of the bolt ons? Though not ideal obviously...

  • @PhilDAS thanks for the link

@mjw1988 @salmonchild maybe you're right. I think I'm probably going to go down the band on route. I've got a band on mech that should work to be honest, just thought I may as well use the braze on hanger if it was there. Cheers for the info.
