Seems like you're still not really splitting anything?

The lacing on those wheels looks hectic. What the hell have you done to the front wheel?

18 hole rim to 24 hole hub???

The differing tensions on those spokes are a death trap.

Can you measure spoke tension from photographs?
-
• #16
Could you do it from a render? If so, how are my tensions?

I think that the wheelset is a death trap too, with how it's been built, it's already been damaged before and the worn away side walls.

• #18
Yes, your spoke tension is equal.

I didnt build the wheels @Señor_Bear, @mdcc_tester. I believe they were built by @AMAC who I purchased them from. Yes the lacing is odd but when I bought those wheels myself I knew what I was getting myself into and if someone else wants to take em of my hands I'll make sure they are aware also? Its your judgement call. No-ones forcing anyone to buy anything. I've made all potential buyers aware of the oddity that is this wheel set and anyone pm'ing with interest will be provided with detailed photos of anything I'm selling, highlighting any aforementioned defects or points of interest.
At the end of the day there are people on here selling 20 year old carbon framesets, trispokes made out of plastic from the 80's.... Not really worlds apart is it...
@gubhi - I'm sorry mate but In what world do people split headsets? And a campag record one at that? What do you think I'm gonna do with half a record headset? And don't you think that might affect the re-sale value somewhat? Not to mention its brand new.
Since I paid for these products I think I'm entitled within the rules and regulations of this forum to sell em how I please. so bi

this is also on facebook too so it goes against forum rules. and comparing zip 404z to 20 yr old carbon frames n plastic wheels is strange but i didnt want the headset just the "spare chainring" but apparently that cannot be split so good luck with your awkward sale.

And my hub torsion is non-zero, since that's a 32H hub laced to a 16H rim :)
The "right" way to lace an 18H Zipp to a generic track hub, assuming there are no 18H hubs, is to use a 36H hub. 36/18 has even less hub torsion than 32/16, and we already know that works, even if it makes grown engineers cry. Of course, the actual right way to use a 404 road front on a track bike is an Allen key skewer.
Anyway, my point (and I do have one) is that using the term "death trap" about that front lacing is unnecessary trolling when there's plenty here to make the corn pop without resort to hyperbole.

Zipp wheelset info - These are 404 road rims with a machined aluminium braking surface laced to Ambrosio zenith track hubs. The wheels are true and the hubs spin beautifully. However the rim has had a repair which I can provide a photo of to anyone who wants to put in an offer. The hubs are also a different hole count to the rims not that It makes much of a difference. I have sharpied over the braking surface to cover the machined aluminium. The braking surface underneath is fairly worn and you probably wouldn't get much more life out of them with brakes.
Pretty much everything but the wheels is brand new and the bike has only been ridden around Preston park velodrome twice!! This is a bargain - these framesets alone go for near 800 dollars.
£950 - collection from London or Brighton preferred or I can post anywhere in Europe at buyers cost via a courier.
(ignore the missing chainring bolt - its been re-fitted)
