Charging issues: Lezyne Zecto Drive Rear LED Light

Posted on
  • I've recently bought Lezyne Zecto Drive Rear LED Light. When I try to charge it, yellow light flashes for a bit before it goes to persistent yellow, which according to the manual means that it's not charging. Any advice?

  • Write an e-mail to the place you got it from.
I've had warranty replaced a Lezyne light for a lesser issue from CRC.

  • Hi Joe, have you tried charging the Zecto from a different power source?

  • I have had mine for a few years and generally been pleased. but the rear one has now decided to not take any charge. tried few different chargers as I appreciate the contact points get worn. not sure what to do with it now though have urge to take it apart.

just think stuff like this has to last longer than three years.

Batteries tho - finite number of charging cycles

    Lezyne say:

The Zecto Drive was the first light we introduced that had a battery that we do not consider replaceable.

    Yeah well that fucking sucks

  • haha. yeah cheers dude.

reckon I normally lose the lights before they get to the end of their natural life. just hate the plastic wastage of it. will see what I can strip and repurpose of it.

  • I've replaced the cell in a Moon light that started to need charging after every half hour commute. I think total cost of soldering iron, solder and cell was less than a new light would have been.
