Help : Rear derailleur for cross bike options

Im re building an old steel cross bike to be 1x10 and im looking at options.

Im planning to stick with sram as it becomes easiest to run bar end shifter, cross compatible between road and mtb stuff. I already have levers etc and im trying todo this on the cheaper side.

My question is, should I go with the gx 10 speed rear derailleur with clutch, or Ive found for the same price a mint but second hand XX 10 speed derailleur without a clutch?

Im a complete beginner at cross, just wanting to build something fun.

why does the x7 not seem to be available any more? has it been replaced with the GX?

Possibly, regardless a type 2 mech is a great way of doing it. I'd avoid the old clutchless versions.
