  • ‘Staunch conservative’ although I remember it as having more hints.

  • Pretty sure he has a mild stutter, hence why he can seem a bit doddery.

Interestingly, I haven't seen any old photos of him other than when a photo of him from the late 50s went viral...

  • He slid in a cheeky sarcastic “Inshallah” in response to Trump saying you would see his Medicare replacement soon which I’m guessing is pretty fucking edgy by Presidential debate standards.

  • Ah yes. Clearly I didn't read very much at all!

  • “Doesn’t believe in feminism” is a bit of a hint too

  • She’s put away plenty (thousands) of people for cannabis offences.

Kinda like how Kier Starmer kept the courts open all night to put away people involved in the 2011 riots.

    Still the best option ffs.

  • Kinda like how Kier Starmer kept the courts open all night to put away people involved in the 2011 riots.

So you approve of rioting? M'kay. Tell me more.

  • So Quinn Simmons has screwed his career outside the US domestic scene. How about Chloe Dygert or is she too good to sideline?

  • Unless I've missed something, why should declaring support for a presidential candidate screw someone's cycling career?

There must be pros in Europe who've voted for worse than Trump, even if they've not outed themselves.

  • why should declaring support for a presidential candidate screw someone's cycling career?

Reputational damage of the brands and teams - Trek have had to tweet about politics and just got bought (in a small way) into a political situation that's extremely polarising.

There are people at Trek now having to deal with this solely because of what he said.

  • Trek’s a billion dollar corporation, there’s definitely a team assembled to nip this in the bud. Quinn’s attitude is what they’ll focus on to distance themselves from him, but Trek won’t risk becoming known as the racists’ preferred bike brand at a time when everyone is buying bikes.

  • Hasn't that ship already sailed? Or do they think it's still damage limitation?

  • Unless I've missed something, why should declaring support for a presidential candidate screw someone's cycling career?

It wouldn't. The brown hands emoji, however, and the subsequent doubling-down goes beyond simply supporting one candidate over another.

    worse than Trump

    Does not compute.

  • He’s radioactive. Trek is now probably going to test the waters to see if it blows over quickly enough.

I hadn’t noticed that he posted black hands emoji. Edit because my reading not so good at night.

    http://www.cyclingnews.com/amp/news/trek-segafredo-suspend-quinn-simmons-for-divisive-incendiary-and-detrimental-statements-on-social-media/

  • Yep. For now, he's fucked. Maybe if he actually and genuinely grows up and changes then he has a chance at redemption. Otherwise, it's Moscon#2.

  • Quinn Simmons is now toxic to Trek as a bike brand and what they allegedly stand for. Enough so that he has now been suspended for 'divisive, incendiary, and detrimental' statements on social media.

  • Which includes selling Trek branded bikes to police forces...

  • Pretty sure he has a mild stutter, hence why he can seem a bit doddery.

Check out the footage of him arguing for busing or promoting the crime bill. No stutter then, he was deeply eloquent in his straight-up racism.

  • Pretty sure he has a mild stutter

He had a severe childhood stutter.

Idk anything about stuttering, but I assume it's something that stays with you to some degree.

    (Also he opposed busing).

  • No, quite the opposite (although it came out that way) - I was just making the comparison that they’re both very “law and order” orientated while maybe not promoting that side of themselves so loudly given the climate around law enforcement. Less so over here... maybe a shit analogy? There’s a misrepresentation from the other side that these parties are “soft”.

  • “law and order”

It's such a shit talking point as well. What does it even mean?

Mass criminalisation of young people? Illegal deportation? Not cutting police funds? Privatisation of prisons?

  • It’s a convenient cover-all term that says either all of the above or nothing at all.

  • Law and Order for whites, extrajudicial killings and unchecked brutalisation by law enforcement for not so whites.

  • 'Law and order' - trigger for those with an overwhelming fear of black men raping their wives in their beds, which Joe Biden plans to legalise.
