Really grim. What a terrible month it has been for serious accidents.
Stay safe everyone.

I hate that bit of road. Fingers crossed she pulls through.

I was on a bus behind the minicab that struck her. Her bike was stuck underneath the car and I was told that at least one wheel had run over her stomach, but she was breathing and her helmet was intact (hopefully no head injury). It looked liked the cab was changing lanes and she was in his blind spot, dragging her under. Not great. The driver was bloody shaken so it seemed to be a genuine accident to me. Hope she makes it. Stay safe guys.

A private hire vehicle driver who ran over a cyclist whilst distracted
using his mobile phone has been found guilty of careless and
inconsiderate driving.
...
Olafusi received a 15 month driving ban and was ordered to pay costs
totalling £1260
...
The cyclist, a 41-year-old woman from Italy, was taken to an east
London hospital. She suffered a broken leg, a fractured pelvis and a chest injury and
is still recovering from her injuries. The court heard that Olafusi was waiting at traffic lights at the
junction of Grays Inn Road. When the lights turned green, he moved off
and went to make a right turn.He subsequently clipped the back wheel of the cyclist, causing her to
fall to the ground. Olafusi continued driving and went over the
cyclist. The court heard that he initially thought he had gone over a
speed-bump. -

A 15 month ban + costs for that is an absolute disgrace. It’s simply not enough, either as punishment or deterrent to others.
My best wishes to the cyclist - a year on, still not recovered.
I came across the aftermath of this crash yesterday and saw the scene as shown in the picture.

Fervently hoping that the rider survives. It doesn't sound good.
